Boasting a 100% finishing rate, featherweight prospect Ezra Elliott will compete for the seventh time in less than two years when he headlines United Fight League’s Freedom Fight Night 4 this weekend against 25-fight MMA veteran Marlon Gonzalez.

A training partner of former UFC Bantamweight Champion Sean O’Malley, Elliott won his amateur MMA debut via submission in 2022 and collected an additional three victories (two submissions, one decision) with top regional promotions Tuff-N-Uff, LFA, and Fury FC (Challenger Series) the following year to close out his brief amateur career.

Elliott ended his pro debut with a first-round TKO in April of 2024 and secured back-to-back wins by D’arce choke (also both in the first round) to close out the year. Moving on from Montana-based Fusion FC last year, the 25-year-old submitted the previously-undefeated Jose Vasquez at LFA 203.

The MMA Lab-product’s last two outings were both headlining bouts for Arizona-based RUF, and those fights saw Elliott add to his streak of first-round finishes when he submitted both Darian Padgett and De’Aundre Tipton in less than two minutes.

Less than two full rounds of cage time as pro fighter means there’s not a ton of tape on Ezra, but he’s followed a fairly standard game plan across those outings to make short work of all of his opponents thus far. Mainly utilizing kicks and feints to immediately put his opposition on the back foot, Ezra wants to get moving forward towards the cage so that he’s able to shoot in with a double leg takedown and bring things to the mat.

The 25-year-old does a good job of controlling the legs of his opponents to keep them from working back up along the fence, and if they do turn away then he’ll immediately look to establish a body triangle and start hunting for a rear naked choke. Fighters that manage to get to their knees are also in serious danger of being submitted, as Ezra has a nasty front choke game and has won half of his pro fights via D’arce choke.

Ezra also does an excellent job of finding his way to a dominant position in any sort of ground scrambles and will pepper an opponent’s head with punches while looking for chances to set up submissions. Along with his rear naked and front chokes, the undefeated featherweight also likes to set up arm triangles from top position and is capable of forcing a tap even if an opponent finds enough space to start turning away from him.

Starting your pro career off with six first-round finishes is a surefire way to attract the attention of both fans and larger MMA promotions, and the association with UFC star O’Malley will likely give Ezra an inside track to Dana White’s Contender Series. His opponent Gonzalez carries a four-fight losing streak into their matchup this weekend, but it would still be impressive if Ezra is able to continue his dominant run against a fighter with more experience than all of his previous opponents combined.
