On Friday, June 12th, Hexagone MMA puts on a stacked card from top to bottom. In this article, I will break down the prospects and fights on this card that make it a must-watch!
Bantamweight – Paul Denis Navero (3-0)
One of the hottest prospects coming out of France right now is the 3-0 Paul Denis Navero. All three of his fights have ended by TKO. This makes him a must-watch. Paul’s amateur career is also very experienced, racking up 18 fights in about three years. His pro career got going in May of 2025. He hasn’t looked back since.
In his last fight, he was the Main Event. Now he repeats that task versus his toughest test to date, the 6-2 Anzor Baybatyrov.
Last time out, Navero treated us to a fun walkout, including a pre-recorded sketch. I am hoping to see more pre-fight antics. Additionally, I want another show-stopping finish from the young Frenchman looking to take over the sport.
Flyweight – Samba Sima (3-0)
Also at 3-0, Sima is another quickly rising French star. He too has three TKO wins in his pro fights. However, his finishes are a bit flashier, and that shows in his overall fight style. He is a quick flyweight with weapons in all of his limbs. He has a head-kick finish, as well as finishes from a jab and a spinning backfist. Sima also has an illustrious amateur career with an impressive 21-4 record, fighting some of the best guys in his weight class.
Samba puts a whole new meaning on activity. All 25 of those fights took place between 2022 and 2024. His pro career, while slowed down, has still seen him get three wins in a year.
He’s looking for his fourth win this weekend. He faces a much more experienced Leonardo de Oliveira, who is 11-7. However, Oliveira, at his age, will probably just be another victim to Sima’s terror.
Strawweight – Mathilde Aschenbrenner (3-0)
Yet another 3-0 French standout is the unstoppable Mathilde Aschenbrenner, who so far has a 100% finish rate. Like her male counterparts, she has a lengthy amateur career during which she sharpened her skills early on against the best names in Europe. She went 15-4 as an amateur, showing her love for submissions.
Now, as a pro, she’s racked up two armbars and one Peruvian necktie in her last outing. The combined opponents’ record was 8-9, which isn’t the best, but it shows she has fought much more experienced fighters and walked through them with ease.
Mathilde will be fighting Noelle Grandjean, who is currently 1-3 in her last 4 fights, bringing her to a record of 5-3. Grandjean is definitely a step up in competition, as she has really only lost to girls with far more experience than she has. If Mathilde can run through Grandjean with ease, Mathilde will be a name to rave about.Â
Bantamweight – Allan Landouzy (1-0)
After making his long-awaited pro debut, Landouzy gets his next test in the 1-0 Abdul Hussainkhil on the prelims. Landouzy, at 1-0 as a pro, went 24-4-1 as an amateur, fighting some of the best guys in France. Landouzy racked up multiple amateur titles, including the 2025 IMMAF European Championship.
While Landouzy does have some TKOs, he is much more comfortable on the ground, as most of his wins come via submission. He started his pro career with a 2nd-round submission.
At just 22 with loads of experience, Landouzy is a fun one to watch as he continues to improve. Depending on how well he does, we could see a rematch between him and Paul Denis Navero. In their amateur days, Navero beat Landouzy via majority decision.Â
*Other fun matchups to keep an eye on*
Damien Lapilus (21-15-3) vs Ryan Eren Agbo (5-1)
Agbo is coming off his first pro loss, where Nicholas Bivol submitted him in the 1st round. This was quite the surprise as Agbo’s first five fights saw him win via submission. Yes, Agbo went 5-0 by submission and then lost his first fight by submission; I know it doesn’t make much sense. Agbo, though, looks to bounce back against the grizzled veteran Damien Lapilus, who is coming off a loss as well. Look for a quick submission from Agbo.
Anas Azizoun (5-2) vs Youssouf Ouattara (4-1)
Azizoun started his career off hot with five straight wins, including two big wins at Combate Global against tough competition. In Anas’s sixth pro fight, he faced Baris Adiguzal, then Gustavo Oliveira. Both Oliveira and Adiguzal would finish Azizoun with 1st-round TKOs.
Azizoun now looks to bounce back against another tough opponent, Youssouf Ouattara, who has not fought at the same level Azizoun has. After losing his first fight last September, Ouattara bounced back this January with a late third-round TKO. This clash between two young Frenchmen will be a big deciding factor for each guy’s career. Azizoun cannot really afford another loss, and Ouattara needs to prove he can beat guys at a higher level. Not sure what to expect here, but I bet it will be a wrestle-heavy fight.
Guillaume Delattre (4-2) vs Malik Bendaho (4-1)
Bendaho is riding a three-fight win streak, with his last win coming at Striker 12 on April 25th. Delattre, on the other hand, was on a three-fight winning streak until this February, when he was finished by a knee injury. Delattre is 29 while Bendaho is 22, meaning a win for Bendaho would be very big here. After coming off a split decision win, Bendaho needs to make a better impression this time out, and it will be against a tougher opponent. This fight will most likely be another scramble-heavy one, as neither guy is really prone to finishing.
