While top prospect Joe Frodsham stopped Imran Hassan via technical knockout in 2025, this year was much different for the 25-year-old rising star. After earning bronze last year, Team England’s bantamweight Imran Hassan returned to dominate in the 2026 IMMAF European Championship.
Hassan is constantly feinting to get a read on the fight, often touching up his opponents’ lead leg with low kicks to get ahead on the scorecards. The bantamweight stays at range in the striking, using his long wingspan to land a high volume of jabs to the head and body, occasionally exploding into a straight up the middle.
The 25-year-old Hassan quickly made a statement in the first round of this year’s IMMAF European Championship, finding the back of Team Bulgaria’s Ivaylo Kazakov, ending the fight with a rear-naked choke. For Imran Hassan, that makes two straight tournaments with a submission victory, first coming via the 2025 finish of Koba Chumburidze in round one. Holding six finishes over twelve wins, Hassan has quickly become a patient but daring threat in the striking and on the mat.
Team England’s Imran Hassan strung together multiple victories on his way to a gold medal, scoring unanimous decision wins over the remainder of the senior bantamweight field. In the tournament finals, Hassan put together the defining victory of his tournament run against Team France’s Bachir Yahiaoui, a 23-year-old phenom coming into the matchup on a nine-fight win streak after defeating top amateur Marc Cabrera Román in the semi-finals.
While still developing his game at the amateur level, the gold medalist bantamweight is on the verge of a massive jump into the pros. Riding a four-fight win streak and building early momentum, Imran Hassan has made it clear he’s one to watch in the future.
