Jason Asher (5-0) vs Gregory Foster (8-1)
Asher can’t afford to get pinned against the fence, and if he does, he can’t give up his back. Foster is sloppy and has faced some of the weakest competition in recent memory. Both fighters can finish the other in a hurry, but this looks like the year of the Swamp Kings.
Douglas da Lapa (6-0) vs Davi Cabral (7-0)
Lapa just loves to fight and is a blast to watch. Cabral wants nothing to do with the standup game in this one and has the clear advantage on the mat, but he likely won’t get the chance to take it there.
Ilias Bulaid (9-0) vs Erick Visconde (17-3)
Rebooked for this event after Bulaid was forced out of his original date by an illness tied to his weight cut. Bulaid is the superior striker, throwing from every angle, and his pro kickboxing background shows in how he manages range. Visconde is more well rounded but far too patient. His path to victory is spamming takedowns, and he’ll need to change levels without warning to make it work.
Aline Pereira (3-2) vs Smilla Sundell (2-0)
Pereira had a highlight or two in Karate Combat, but she doesn’t even carry regional main card caliber in MMA. Sundell is an accomplished, multiple time world class Muay Thai champion and could find a knockout finish in round 1 or 2.
William Rentz (8-2) vs Luis Francischinelli (6-1)
Rentz has a unique build, short legs and a long torso, like a reverse Sean Woodson. His clear path is take it to the mat and ground and pound, but that’s a tall order against the 6’6″ Francischinelli. Francischinelli is never in a boring fight and has this weird, almost sloppy-like flow state. I feel like a first round finish is inevitable as long as there’s no respect shown and with the way Francischinelli throws his head kicks, a highlight knockout could be on tap.
My Bets:
Asher, da Lapa, Francischinelli = +225 ( 1u )
Asher by KO/TKO, da Lapa/Cabral Over 1.5 rounds, Visconde by ITD = +1840 ( .25u )
Visconde KO/TKO Round 3 = +3000 ( .25u )
Super long shot: Francischinelli KO/TKO Round 1, da Lapa KO/TKO Round 2, Visconde to win in Round 3 = +23,120 ( .1u )
Enjoy the final episode of the season!
