Ryuho Miyaguchi (7-1) vs Mateus Soares (11-2)
Miyaguchi is a striker who can be too patient at times, but he gets busy if he’s engaged first. His knees to the body in the clinch, and from the ground, are big setup pieces when he goes for the finish. Soares is a fast twitch counter striker with a good sprawl. He can’t afford to be the patient one here or this turns into a boring decision, and he will hopefully look to stay in the pocket to make this ugly.
Alivia Bierley (5-1) vs Summer Onley (6-0)
Bierley is a run of the mill striker who isn’t fast but has some pop. Her best path will be takedowns and a quick move to the back. Onley is the FCC champion in the UK and a great counter striker with excellent leg kicks and body shots to match. I’ve gone back and forth on the outcome of this, but the thing that has remained clear to me is Summer Onley moneyline.
Roque Conceicao Junior (11-3) vs Alexander Chavez (9-0)
Conceicao Junior returns for another shot on the Contender Series after a knockout loss to Imanol Rodriguez, a result that has aged well given Rodriguez’s recent UFC 332 performance. He’s a striker with good in and out movement, though his defense lacks a bit. He dropped Rodriguez before getting finished, and 8 of his 11 wins have come by knockout. Chavez is a hard hitting boxer who loves to attack the body. He hasn’t faced top shelf competition in Inka, but his skills could translate here. Both fighters may treat round one as a data download session but will deliver on the 2nd and 3rd round (if it gets there).
Preston LaGrange (6-1) vs Nell Ariano (6-0)
LaGrange will try to get Ariano to the fence and grind out a takedown. The problem is Ariano is built like a California King mattress, with power in both hands and multiple international judo medals to his name. Much like others, I question how much damage the slam KO and follow-up punches did to LaGrange in his last fight with Brandon Holmes, it wasn’t pretty. Ariano is poised for a great knockout in this one.
Sal Everett (4-0) vs Ozzy Martin (4-0)
Everett needs to take advantage of Martin’s overzealous, straight in volume striking by taking him down and immediately hunting a submission. If he doesn’t, he risks getting knocked out. Neither fighter is ready for this level, they’re not even ready for main eventing the regional scenes. I’m on the dog in this one and I think Ozzy get’s it done QUICK.
My Bets:
Ariano + Soares ML’s = +110 on FanDuel (odds have steamed as of this writing, toss in Onley ML to get it to even money) ( 1u )
Summer Onley ML + LaGrange/Ariano Under 1.5 rds = +118 on Bet365 ( 1.5u )
Conceicao/Chavez Over 1.5 Rounds + Everett/Martin Under 1.5 Rounds = +125 on Bet365 ( 1u )
Summer Onley and Ozzy Martin both by KO/TKO = +598 on Bet365 ( .5u )
Ariano Round 1 KO + Soares Round 2 KO + Onley Round 3 KO = +10,442 on Bet365 ( .25u ) **LONG SHOT**
