Shane “Hollywood” Collins
Age: 25
Featherweight
Fighting out of: Los Angeles, California
Cobra Team MMA
After making quick work of a short-notice opponent in January, Shane “Hollywood” Collins is back in the octagon for one of his toughest challenges to date. For Collins, this upcoming matchup marks his second fight under the 559 Fights banner since turning professional back in 2024. It’s been pure flashes of greatness for the California-native so far, scoring six-straight victories, most notably when he captured the A1 Combat featherweight championship this past June.
It’s a loaded month and a half for Cobra Team MMA; Jean-Paul Lebosnoyani scored his first UFC victory over Phil Rowe, Bruno Souza is fighting on March 27th, Ozzy Diaz officially was rescheduled against Ateba Gautier in Newark, and undefeated prospects Shane Collins and Jonathan Powell both make quick turnarounds the next two weekends.
Shane Collins will take on Amin Gasimov, a striker from Open Fighting Championship, in what likely will be a measuring stick fight for the rising American prospect. Gasimov should present Collins with a different challenge than he’s dealt with in the past; the Russia Top Team fighter holds four first-round finishes out of twelve victories, while only suffering defeat twice.
On the feet, “Hollywood,” is typically able to lead the dance with his quickness and footwork, cutting off the cage and beating his opponent to the spot in every exchange. Fighting behind an effective jab that’s constantly throwing off the rhythm of the opposition, Collins scores well at range. Often mixed in with a whipping leg kick, the Los Angeles featherweight is a very difficult striker to get ahead of.
Once the fight begins, Shane Collins is usually on his bike, floating around the octagon with ease, making the opponent fight at his pace. Through six professional bouts, Collins has had an overwhelming quickness to his striking, showing a number of feints on his feet to finding slick angles to land meaningful shots, often brutalising the face and midsection of his opponent with strikes that can mesmerize any fight fan.
While used as a secondary option, Shane Collins also possesses a solid ground game that’ll be able to keep up at the highest levels. On the amateur scene, Collins scored four submissions, impressively pulling off a Von Flue choke in just the second mixed martial arts fight in his career. The American’s speed advantage proves an asset in the grappling as well, as Collins’ twitchy reactions open opportunities for underhooks and denials that keep the fight on the feet.
On March 6th, Shane Collins enters the cage for his second fight of 2026, facing off against Amin Gasimov at 559 Fights 122. Gasimov comes into the bout holding a 12-2-0 record, while the undefeated Collins looks to extend his win streak to seven in the professional ranks. Don’t blink if you’re watching this one, and expect that these two strikers are bound to get after it early and often. If Shane Collins is able to stop Amin Gasimov, there’s no doubt the Californian will be in Contender Series talks in no time.
