Born in Illertissen, Bavaria, on August 11, 2000, Alina Dalaslan has emerged as one of Germany’s most promising bantamweight prospects. She grew up in Germany as the daughter of a Turkish father and a German mother. She began her athletic journey at a young age, taking up gymnastics at age four. Dalaslan started kickboxing at 16, later added wrestling to her training, and ultimately embraced Mixed Martial Arts as her primary discipline.
Dalaslan balanced her burgeoning combat career with academic and professional success. She completed a dual degree in business administration at the Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg Stuttgart. She worked as a controller at Mercedes-AMG before committing full-time to MMA as well.
In the amateur ranks, she rapidly made her mark, debuting in MMA in late 2023. By 2024, she had captured significant titles, including German Amateur Champion under the GEMMAF. More notably, winning the IMMAF World Championship at the 2024 World Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. That being where she progressed through several bouts, culminating in a final win over Demi-Shaye Thomas to claim the world title.
After reaching the pinnacle of amateur MMA, Dalaslan turned professional in January 2025, signing with European promotion OKTAGON MMA. She made an impactful pro debut at OKTAGON 68 with a third-round TKO win in her home country.
Throughout 2025, she continued to build her professional record with a string of victories. She’s been recognized within German MMA media and by combat sports figures like boxing legend Regina Halmich, who has acted as a mentor. Her trajectory from elite amateur to undefeated professional has made her one of the most-watched rising fighters in European MMA, and already one of the best female bantamweights in the world.
Alina Dalaslan returns to the cage at OKTAGON 83 with another important step forward in her young professional career. She faces Poland’s Karolina “The Alligator” Sobek (5-3) in a bantamweight matchup. Dalaslan will look to continue her steady climb within the promotion, while Sobek brings a deeper, more traveled résumé. It’s a classic momentum-versus-experience pairing, one that should help clarify where Dalaslan stands in OKTAGON’s increasingly competitive women’s division.
Dalaslan’s game is built less on raw speed or explosiveness and more on composure, structure, and persistence. At her best, she is a poised striker who moves well laterally and understands how to manage space over extended stretches of a fight. She uses kicks intelligently, often treating them as jabs to disrupt rhythm, occupy opponents, and set up counters rather than simply hunting damage. That approach feeds naturally into her identity as a counter puncher, where she does some of her cleanest work when opponents step into range or overcommit. While not the quickest athlete in the division, she compensates with timing, balance, and a calm presence under fire.
In close range, Dalaslan becomes notably more effective. Her clinch work is a real asset and an area she could lean on even more. She shows good awareness in tie-ups, delivers punishing knees, and is comfortable working for position rather than forcing quick exits. Her ability to stand back up after being taken down is another underrated strength, allowing her to reset and re-enter exchanges without panicking. As fights wear on, her cardio begins to separate her from opponents. She maintains output late, continues to move, and has repeatedly shown the ability to push through adversity and find finishes in the later rounds when the moment demands it.
That said, there are clear areas for refinement. Dalaslan is not a fast starter and has a tendency to give away early rounds while she finds her timing. Distance management can be inconsistent, and can be pressured backward more easily than she should be. Defensively, she is hittable, and her chin has been tested and failed on some occasions, raising questions about how much damage she can absorb at higher levels. Continued development of her fight strategy and decision-making will be crucial. When she fights with confidence and a clear plan, her upside is evident. Sharpening those elements will determine how far she ultimately climbs.
