Brodie Mayocchi: Ready to Shine at Hex 35

#4 Brodie Mayocchi (3-0)

Lightweight

20 Years Old – City Kickboxing

Brodie Mayocchi is another name ANZ fans have been familiar with for some time, having steadily built his reputation through an undefeated run across both his professional and amateur careers against consistently solid Australian regional competition. That record has not been padded or protected, but rather, it has been earned through a series of performances that demonstrate composure, adaptabilit,y and a clear understanding of how to impose his game. Mayocchi’s breakthrough moment outside of the cage came in his victory in City Kickboxing’s reality TV Show ‘Relentless’, a platform that showcased not only his skill set, but also his ability to perform under pressure and scrutiny.

Following that win, Mayocchi has continued his development out of the CKB stable, training alongside his twin brother Kyle in one of the most demanding and technically refined environments in the region. Daily exposure to elite coaching and high-level training partners has accelerated his growth, particularly in the areas of positional awareness and fight IQ.

Stylistically, Mayocchi is an active and assertive grappler built around a dangerous submission game supported by strong, functional wrestling. He is comfortable initiating clinches, chaining takedown attempts, and using a variety of body locks, trips, and off-balancing techniques to bring opponents to the mat, where he is most effective. On the ground, he shows patience and intent, advancing position methodically while remaining a constant submission threat.

While his striking is still developing and may not yet be the most technically polished aspect of his game, it has improved considerably and serves its purpose well. He uses it to close distance, apply pressure, and force reactions; and he has shown a willingness to absorb strikes if it means getting into the positions he wants. In particular, Mayocchi diversifies his targeting nicely, doing damage to the body that instinctively forces opponents to clinch up, which is where he typically wants the fight. Still, Mayocchi is a threat on the feet and has improved in this aspect of his game significantly from fight-to-fight. The durability Mayocchi has shown, combined with his effective grappling approach and high work rate, makes Mayocchi a difficult and increasingly dangerous matchup as his overall skill set continues to mature.

With Mayocchi consistently showing the exponential improvements from fight-to-fight at still a young age, combined with the quality coaching and training he’s getting in at CKB; Brodie Mayocchi stands out as one of the brightest prospects in the ANZ MMA scene. There’s no doubt that he will continue to improve his striking, and with the overall dominating grappling game he has showcased, there is considerable long-term upside to a fighter like Mayocchi.
