Women’s Strawweight Championship: Andrea Amaro (7-2) vs Anna Melisano (5-1)
El Paso’s Andrea “Piggy” Amaro is coming off the biggest win of her career, scoring the Fury FC Strawweight title over Jéssica Delboni on April 27, 2025. Amaro is a short, scrappy strawweight who mixes high-energy pressure with excellent grappling. A Jiu-Jitsu black belt, she often presses forward, closing distance quickly and working in the clinch or against the cage. Amaro is on a current six-fight win streak since opening her professional career 1-2. Now she’ll face the best opponent of her career, Anna Melisano.
Melisano, a taller strawweight known for sharp striking, standing 5’6″ with a long reach, prefers to fight at range. She jumps out to quick starts, fighting aggressively, throwing crisp jabs, front kicks, or punches. Her offense can produce finishes, too. In her last two victories, she got it done by knockout and submission in round one.
Both fighters on streaks are looking for a statement win, facing their highest caliber opponent in their career. I expect Amaro to implement her grappling, and Melisano to use movement and jabs to keep the fight on the feet. I’m taking Amaro’s strength and wrestling to control the action, smothering Melisano, eventually finding a submission.
Final Picks:
- Mansher Khera by TKO
- Hector Saenz by Decision
- Andrea Amaro by Submission
