10 Flyweight Prospects the UFC Should Sign in 2026

Muhidin Abubakar

12-1 | 27 | England

Abubakar has been active since turning pro in 2021, with 2025 being his most active year, going 4-0. The year saw him winning and defending the UAE Warriors flyweight title, and winning the FightStar Championship title. The narrative around Abubakar is that he’s not the most enjoyable to watch. He put that to bed in his last fight with a highlight-reel knockout, proving he can be exciting.

Abubakar is a real submission threat despite having more decisions and knockouts than subs, with a particular danger around the neck. His grappling is relentless—constantly advancing position and hunting finishes, even off his back. On the feet, he’s very kick-heavy, perhaps to a fault, though he does carry a solid jab and a one-punch KO. His kicking arsenal is fluid, fast, and explosive, mixing levels well with teeps, seamless stance switches, and the occasional spinning attack. Still, his biggest strengths show on the mat, where his explosive wrestling shines, especially from body locks, knee traps, and well-angled leg attacks.
