George Mangos
22 years old – Australia – Eternal MMA – 8-1
Another prospect who’s already been on the Contender Series, Mangos lost a pretty close decision to the much older Radley Da Silva. While he wasn’t quite able to get it done against a physical and controlling opponent, he was awkward enough on bottom that Da Silva felt unable to settle. He couldn’t do much damage to Mangos without the threat of a sweep. Mangos clearly has a tricky bottom game, and Da Silva had to sacrifice his contract hopes in order to try to control Mangos.
Upon his return to the Australian regional scene, Mangos quickly got over his Contender Series loss. Very easily dispatched Justin Van Heerden within a couple of minutes, showing how fast his hands are and how accurately he picks his kill shots.
Mangos seems destined to be a guy who takes his second opportunity and gets in.
