Global Watchlist: The Best MMA Prospect From Each Country

Montenegro

 

The country of Montenegro has some hope in some guys, two in particular. One that stood out to me the most was Dalibor Dragojević (4-0). 23 fights as an amateur and four as a pro, and he’s only 20. He’s dynamic and loose in the cage. A better wrestler and grappler than anything. Strong top position, active GnP, and a submission threat. At his age, his progression is already impressive, so looking forward to his future.

 

Morocco

 

Morocco has some options, and due to extensive research, I really like Imran Chelhani (5-1). The young 22-year-old is a bright prospect who lives and trains in England. He fights out of London Shootfighters with a ton of other top talent. Chelhani is an athletic fighter who’s a true student of the game. He gets better fight-to-fight. Dynamic, explosive, fast, and a nice flow to him on the feet. His striking is also a good pathway to execute takedowns as well. For a young man, I’m impressed with his composure and comfort level to fight anywhere.

 

Myanmar

 

With the UFC crowning a new flyweight champion in Josh Van, the country of Myanmar is looked at more than ever. After his last fight in 2019, Punnya Sai (7-0) took a five-year layoff. Since returning in 2024, Sai has won three fights, and all three came in under a minute. Sai is a slick striker and an underrated grappler, it seems. A lot of questions surround Sai due to his poor level of competition. Either way, he’s clearly the best prospect from Myanmar.

 

Nepal

 

Nepal has never had an athlete in the UFC, and really not many MMA fighters in general. Rabindra Dhant (9-1) has fought in Brave CF and ONE Friday fights. It wasn’t until his last fight that he made his name known. He went into India and beat the hometown guy in Chungreng Koren. He finished Koren and took his Matrix Fight Night bantamweight championship. An improving striker and a strong wrestler, with his GnP being the best weapon in his bag. Dhant has a good chance to be the first-ever Nepalese UFC fighter. A RTU opportunity would make sense to get him there.
