Global Watchlist: The Best MMA Prospect From Each Country

Poland

 

Poland has some studs, and with that said, Damian Rzepecki (9-0) is the most ready prospect right now. He’s already said he’s been in contact with the UFC, so something seems to be on the table. To level up his game, he’s done some cross training in the US training with an excellent gym in Kill Cliff FC. Still, the Poland scene is what he’s worried about sitting as the current FEN lightweight champion. A well-rounded fighter with strong cardio making him dangerous for anyone across from him.

 

Portugal

 

Even though he’s coming off a loss, Elton Armindo (7-1) is the best prospect from Portugal. Anyways, the loss to Giuseppe Mastrogiacomo isn’t a bad one at all. Armindo, being just 22, the fight will pay off as a great learning experience. His base is 100% lyhis striking bringing a clean tactical approach. A clean jab and straight punches while attacking with low calf kicks. A decent ground game that’s at a good level to build off of. Maybe lacking some power, but is someone who adds up damage and frustrates opponents.

 

Romania

 

The only Romanian in the UFC is Alice Ardelean, and that can’t be the case for too long. Someone on the come-up with a lot of potential is Ștefan Lobodă (1-0). Lobodă was an IMMAF Junior World champion and European champion. 9-0 as an amateur in MMA so 10-0 combined. Outside of MMA, Lobodă is a National Kempo champion and a three-time United World Wrestling Grappling World Champion. Big overhands to blast doubles and dominate with top control.

 

Russia

 

All us fight fans know Russia is one of the leading countries in terms of high-level talent. To me, even with many options, Shakhban Gapizov (5-0, 1 NC) is the choice which says a lot about his ability. 13-1 as an amateur and was an IMMAF Senior Would champion. His kickboxing and fluidity are a great mix. He throws an array of kicks being flashy but it’s more so the speed and the shot placement that’s impressive. He has good wrestling and a mauling ground game. An overall total paclage when looking at a prospect.
