Global Watchlist: The Best MMA Prospect From Each Country

Uzbekistan

 

Khotam Boynazarov (12-0) is a top notch prospect and ranked quite highly in our top 25. He’s coming off a can crush but before that beat James Llontop, a former UFC fighter. Although I believe he is moving on from the promotion he is the current UAE Warriors welterweight champion. I’ve not been impressed in the past but has looked much better the last two years. He’s an excellent wrestler and has top-notch cardio is an incredible duo to stop.

 

Venezuela

 

Venezuela has some prospects to look out for but due to what I as able to find on tape, Johan Murillo (6-0) is the choice. 10-0 combined as a pro and amateur and a large part of his pro career come with Samurai Fight House. Murillo is well-rounded and super athletic. Still raw but it’s expected at just 22. If he continues his development he’s already good everywhere so he has some nice potential.

 

Zambia

 

Ken Sekeletu (6-1) is coming off a loss, but it was a DQ due to repeated blows to the back of the head. Outside of a complete mental stumble, Sekeletu has looked dominant. He has a win over TUF alum Roedie Roets whose a good fighter himself. Sekeletu is good at distance controlling the range with those kicks. He’s not all there in the wrestling, but does good work on top. He’s willing to fight anywhere and is dangerous at all times, despite not chasing a finish.

 

Zimbabwe

 

EFC has some options from Zimbabwe and I’m going with a former fighter of theirs in Nicholas Hwende (10-2). Hwende has had some setbacks in his career but some bright spots. He’s a former EFC bantamweight champion. He has some wins over good fighters like RTU alum Xie Bin and PFL Africa champion Nkosi Ndebele.
